Cold Sore Herpes




A cold sore (herpes type-1) is commonly visually diagnosed, but other viruses could require cone biopsy and colposcopy for diagnosis. These lesions or blisters tend to appear for about two weeks during the first outbreak. The following attacks seem to be milder with symptoms disappearing within a week. In most cases, no treatment is needed. However, antiviral medication can be used to suppress the virus and reduce the pain. During the outbreaks of the infection, patients complain of lesions that appear on the face or genitals. The condition may also be accompanied by mild fever and pain.
