Herpes Simplex




Herpes simplex, being different than dysplasia, is not treated with a cone biopsy or colposcopy. The virus is transmitted during a close contact with an affected person or during sexual intercourse when an affected partner has an outbreak of the infection. To reduce the chance of getting infected, it is recommended to improve the immune system, use individual towels and like objects, and avoid promiscuity. Herpes simplex, being different than dysplasia, is not treated with a cone biopsy or colposcopy.

This virus has two strains that cause the condition - HSV-1 and HSV-2. Commonly, the first type causes infections on the face, yet can result in genital infection. HSV-2 is the cause of genital affection. Yet, can also lead to lesions on the mouth and eyes. Herpes simplex, being different than dysplasia, is not treated with a cone biopsy or colposcopy.
